Galaxy Auto Centers was originated June of 1973 in both Columbia Heights and Brooklyn Park. In 1983 the business changed hands and was purchased by the current owner, Donald Logelin. After a few years of hard work, the business began to steadily grow and the Spring Lake Park location was added in November of 1989. Thru many long days, good leadership, dedicated employees and a commitment to provide the best service in the industry the shops began to grow.
By 1993 we had outgrow the building in Brooklyn Park. It became obvious that we needed to either expand the building or move. It was at this time that we were fortunate enough the find our current location at 4309 85th Ave (formerly Columbus Tire) and so in April 1993 we moved. The summer of 2006 we remodeled 2 of our locations (Columbia Heights & Brooklyn Park.) and in 2008 we remodeled the Spring Lake Park location. All 3 stores now have a fresh new state of the art equipment, comfortable waiting room, free wi-fi Internet access, free beverages, new equipment and more.
What make our business different: A few things come to mind:
- We are a small independent service center. We listen to our customers and react accordingly. In most cases we know our customers on a first name basis as well as their families. Several of our customers are 2nd and 3rd generation deep.
- We are competitive with the big box store pricing.
- We have long term employees that know our customers expectations and deliver every time.
Unique traits or selling points: We don’t believe in high pressure sales. It is our obligation to educate our customers as best as we can. We do this by showing them what is needed and explaining why. At that time our customers can make a fair decision on what is needed to operate and maintain as safe, reliable vehicle. We invest heavily in state of the art diagnostic equipment. Our information data base for repair service, technical service bulletins and recalls are updated on a daily basis. We also specialize in driveability & electrical repairs for all models (from check engine lights to blown fuses). We've got you covered.
